High moisture in the crawl space caused the beams and joists to rot, which caused the floor above to sag. SmartJack Support Posts were installed in the crawl space to permanently stabilize the floor and lift it to its original level. SmartJack Support Posts are adjustable steel posts that are designed to lift a sagging floor back to its original level. The posts are able to support the weight of the sagging floor and distribute it evenly over a larger area, which prevents any further sagging from occurring.
We installed foundation push piers to provide permanent stabilization and to lift this sinking foundation to its original position and to help close the open cracks.
This customer was dealing with issues of his foundation settling, and this was causing cracks in his porch. This can become a problem because when the foundation of the home begins to settle it lessens the structural integrity of the home. The customer gave Atlanta Basement Systems a call, and we sent out a sales rep to inspect and determine what we would be able to install that would resolve the issues for this customer. The sales rep was able to determine that this customer was going to need helical piers and NexusPro crack repair. The helical piers are screwed into the ground to the appropriate depth, and the weight of the home is transferred from the piers onto the competent soil. The NexusPro crack repair is a silicone-based sealent, and it helps to prevent water infiltration, and it will not deteriorate during the natural contraction and expansion of the concrete during season change. Once the crew installed the piers and laid the NexusPro, this customer was left satisfied with the results, and had the peace of mind that the structural integrity of his home was no longer compromised.
This customer was faced with foundation issues in his basement. He was noticing droopy floors, and these can become a very big issue. When the structural integrity of the foundation is messed up, this can be the result of many different issues. The most common that we see has to deal with water and high moisture levels in the space. The crew was able to get out and determine the causes of his issues, and install equipment that resolved all of his issues. The crew installed a waterproofing system in this customers basement, along with SmartJacks and supplemental beams, that helped to stabilize the foundation of his home. The waterproofing system included CleanSpace, the CleanSpace vent seal and the SaniDry Sedona dehumidfier. These working parts all join together to ensure that no water or moisture can enter the basement and cause further damage. The CleanSpace is a durable liner that allows the water to seep behind, and it encapsulates the basement leaving water out of the space. The CleanSpace vent seal covers all of the vents in the basement, ensuring that the moist, humid air from the outside cannot enter and cause changes in the relative humidity levels. The SaniDry Sedona is our top-of-the-line, highly-efficient dehumidifier that keeps the air dry, and keeps the relative humidity down during all four seasons. The SmartJacks were installed alongside the supplemental beams, and this is what fixed the customers concern of droopy floors. The SmartJacks are steel beams that are installed into the concrete, and all connected. Once connected, they are tightened in place and this helps to stabilize the floors from below. This basement system was restored, and was waterproof and stable.
This homeowner reached out to us because their porch was sagging on one side and it was disconnecting in places. After an assessment by one of our System Design Specialists, they decided it could be fixed with the installation of helical piers. Helical piers are great for stabilizing light structures like this porch, and they lifted it back to the original level. Quickly fixing problems like these allow homeowners to save a lot of money and stress by addressing the problems before they get worse.
