A McDonough, GA homeowner contacted our office to schedule a free crawl space waterproofing estimate. Their crawl space had high levels of moisture and humidity along with standing water, resulting in musty odors and humid air in the upper levels. The crawl space assessment revealed that water entered the crawl space through cracks in the walls, around the windows, and through the dirt floor. In order to permanently resolve this problem, it was necessary to seal the crawl space from the outside elements. It was necessary to install an EZ-Flow drainage system, a high quality sump pump, and a crawl space dehumidifier.
The presence of standing water in the crawl space may lead to mold and mildew growth, wood rot, structural damage, and health issues. Ground water seepage led to a high moisture level in the crawl space which caused the growth of mold and mildew. The EZ-Flow pipe will divert the water away from the crawl space, while the CleanSpace vapor barrier will prevent moisture from entering the crawl space and promote a dry environment, reducing the risk of wood rot and structural damage, as well as potential health issues.
